This Micro DD-5 (Japan Domestic Market model at 100V) is a really lovely listening turntable from 1975. Micro Seiki originally made surgical instruments and miniature mechanisms. They then started to produce exquisite and sought-after turntables in the 60's and 70's. This is a really nice piece and would be suited to someone who wants to listen to their new or old favourite records at home

The Micro Seiki DD-5 is indeed a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy both new and vintage records with a high level of clarity and precision. With its roots in surgical instruments and miniature mechanisms, Micro Seikibrought an unparalleled level of craftsmanship to their turntables in the 60s and 70s. The DD-5 is a prime example of this, offering a combination of elegant design and impeccable performance.

Its direct-drive system, paired with the highly accurate tonearm and stable motor, makes it perfect for those who want a reliable turntable that delivers excellent sound quality, whether you’re playing cherished old records or enjoying new releases.

The DD-5’s design is appreciated not just for its functionality but also as a piece of 1970s audio history, with its straightforward controls, precision engineering, and timeless aesthetic appeal that embodies the era's design ethos - it achieved recognition with a Good Design Award (Japan) in 1976 along with DD-7.
