Since its return, the amplifier has been rigorously tested over a two-week period at Vintage Japan HiFi. The restored TU-666 demonstrated the following exceptional key factors: Highly capable of good FM clarity and stable tuning, warm and analog, with “clean sound”, striking circular dial and illuminated design are visually stunning vintage vibe.
The original wood case has been carefully restored in-house over a two-week process. Each surface was hand-sanded to remove scratches, with peeled or cracked areas carefully patched. The finish was then revarnished using a meticulous combination of oil coating and water-grinding techniques, bringing back its rich and natural lustre (deep dark walnut colour) while preserving its vintage character.
