Return Policy

Returns
Please note that returns are generally not possible for most items sold on our site. All pre-owned audio equipment, speakers and accessories are sold "as-is" and "without warranty." We do our best to accurately present each item’s condition and functionality, supported by detailed documentation. All equipment is restored, cleaned, tested, and documented by our skilled Takumi (craft masters) to the best of our ability to ensure the condition and functionality are clearly represented.
Warranty and Workmanship Guarantee
We do, however, guarantee any workmanship on restored or repaired equipment for 25 days from the date of purchase. If you encounter an issue within this period, simply contact us to work on a mutually agreeable solution. In some cases, we may be able to diagnose and address the issue remotely, while others may require third-party service.
Eligibility for Return
To be eligible for a return, the item must meet the following conditions:

Condition: The item must be in the same condition as when it was received.

Original Packaging: The item must be returned in its original packaging.

Notification: You must contact us within the first 7 days of receiving the vintage audio equipment if there are any issues.

Return Authorization (RA): You must obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number from us before returning the item. This RA number must be clearly visible on the package.
Important: You must obtain a Return Authorization to be eligible for a refund. Any items shipped to VintageJapanHiFi without an associated RA number will be considered the property of VintageJapanHiFi, and no refund will be issued.
Return Window: Returns are only accepted within 25 days of purchase. If more than 25 days have passed since your purchase, or if you fail to notify us of any issues within the required timeframe, we will be unable to process your return.
For any approved returns, the item must be in the same condition as received and packaged in its original shipping materials.

Non-Returnable Items:

Downloadable software products (manuals)
-
Personal usage items (headphones, vinyl brush, vinyl plastic covers, turntable mat, etc).

Audio cables that has been used.

Audio accessories that result in wear and tear (phono cartridges, records, CDs, etc.)
Return Requirements: To initiate a return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. You must obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number from us before returning the item. This RA number must be clearly visible on the package. Please do not send your item back to the manufacturer, as many are no longer in business.
Partial Refunds (if applicable): In certain cases, only partial refunds may be granted.
These include:

Items not in original condition, damaged, or with missing parts not due to our error

Items returned more than 30 days after delivery
Refund Process (if applicable): Once your return is received and inspected, we’ll notify you by email about the approval or rejection of your refund. Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within a specified number of days.
Restocking Fee (if applicable): Accepted returns are subject to a 20% restock fee, based on the original purchase price.
Delayed or Missing Refunds: If you haven’t received a refund, first check your bank account and then contact your credit card company. Processing times vary. If you still have not received it, please contact us at vintagejapanhifi.real@gmail.com
Sale Items: Only regularly priced items are eligible for refunds. Sale items are non-refundable.
Exchanges (if applicable): We only replace items if they are defective or damaged, and only if a suitable replacement is available, which may be limited due to our constantly changing inventory.
Gifts: If the item was marked as a gift at purchase and shipped directly to you, we’ll issue a gift credit upon return. Otherwise, a refund will go to the original purchaser.
Shipping for Returns: If authorized to return your item, please send it to: Imaizumi 1-9-12, Suite 303, Fukuoka, Chuo-ku, 810-0021 Japan. Return shipping costs are your responsibility and non-refundable. For items over $50, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing insurance, as we cannot guarantee receipt.
